7. Aims

1. To investigate the role of diet and smoking in determining the risk of being found to have an adenomatous polyp.

2. To examine the role of polymorphisms in the N-acetyltransferase genes in determining the risk of an adenomatous polyp.

3. To investigate the interaction between diet, smoking and N-acetyltransferase 1 and 2 genotype in determining the risk of an adenomatous polyp.
